Join renowned printmaker Linda Griswold Davis for a two-part workshop that explores the timeless art of linoleum block printing. With over 30 years of experience, Linda will guide you through the foundational skills needed to design, carve, and print your unique creations. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, whether you're a complete beginner or have some artistic experience.
Workshop Structure:
Session 1: Dive into the basics of linoleum block carving. Learn to transfer your design and carve your block at your own pace. You’ll have the option to take your tools and project home for further carving between sessions, allowing for flexibility in your creative process.
Session 2: Return the following weekend for an afternoon dedicated to printing! Bring your carved blocks and learn techniques for inking and printing your designs using black ink. You’ll have time to examine your initial prints, make any desired adjustments, and print a small edition of your final designs. Printing techniques will be a key focus during this session. Linda will also be available to stay late both days, ensuring you receive personalized guidance and support.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your custom prints, blocks, and tools, ready to continue your printmaking journey!
