Dive into the captivating world of Navajo weaving with an immersive four-day course led by acclaimed Navajo weaver Marilou Schultz at the Rochester Folk Art Guild. Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the Navajo people, participants will explore the techniques and cultural significance of Navajo weaving, also known as Dine weaving. Under Marilou's expert guidance, attendees will weave a small rug on an upright loom, learning traditional preparations of wool and discussing the Navajo culture, history of rugs, and way of life. All experience levels are welcome!

Artist Information:
Marilou Schultz, a member of the Tabaaha and Tsi’naajinii clans, brings a wealth of experience and heritage to her role as instructor. With over four generations of weaving knowledge passed down through her family, Marilou's dedication to preserving and advancing the legacy of Navajo weaving is evident in her remarkable body of work.
