Awakenings, Anticipations & Alpacas

What an exhilarating month it's been at the Guild! With the arrival of April, we welcomed the promise of spring with open arms, celebrating the season of renewal and growth in true community fashion.  It's a busy time of year for us here at the Guild, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Together, we're sowing the seeds of creativity and connection, nurturing them with care as they blossom into something truly extraordinary.

Our Easter celebration was nothing short of magical, filled with food, laughter, and music. And of course, we were incredibly lucky to be in the path of totality for the awe-inspiring solar eclipse. Despite the overcast skies, we gathered together to witness land falling into total darkness, a reminder of the wonders of the universe and the power of togetherness.

The signs of spring are all around us, with flowers blooming and the air beginning to warm—a welcome relief after a rainy April. In our plant room, seedlings are reaching for the sun, eager to be planted in the earth as soon as the threat of frost has passed.

As we look forward to the warmer months ahead and a busy season of programming, we're thrilled to announce that Bridget is taking over the role of program director. She brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the role and a love for our community as a resident member.  The lineup for the first of our summer events is available below and more to come soon.

This month, we were delighted to host Sakshi Mathuria, a guest potter from India, who joined us as part of a journey across the United States, exploring pottery opportunities and creating hand-built forms with colored clay. Not to mention treating us to her incredible cooking!

Mark your calendars! Our gallery is open for a special exhibition of ceramics by Emma Silverstein for a few more days, through April 27th by appointment. The gallery officially opens for the season on May 11th, showcasing a stunning array of artwork that celebrates the beauty and creativity of our community.  The gallery is open Saturdays 11-5pm, Sundays 1-5pm, or by appointment.

And there's exciting news on the farm front—we've welcomed five new alpacas! Emma has worked tirelessly to prepare a new pasture for them, and it's a joy to see them grazing on the hillside and making East Hill Farm their home.
