Craft Weekend Highlights, New Faces, and Poetic Reflections!

Dear Friends,

What a fantastic August it has been at the Folk Art Guild! Craft Weekend was a whirlwind of creativity and connection, filled with workshops in pottery, woodturning, weaving, eco print, photography, and basket weaving. We were so inspired by the energy and camaraderie of everyone who joined us!

Craft Weekend: A Celebration of Creativity

From pottery and wood turning to weaving, eco-printing, photography, and basket weaving, Craft Weekend was a vibrant showcase of artistic exploration. We loved seeing the community come together, sharing ideas and skills, and celebrating the joy of making. The energy was palpable, and the results were truly inspiring. Whether you joined us for a workshop or simply followed along from afar, thank you for being part of this creative celebration!

Visitor Spotlights

We’ve had some wonderful visitors recently who’ve added to the lively atmosphere this month including:

Steve from Ireland has been here working in our pottery studio. Not only is he enjoying his time creating beautiful pieces, but he’s also a big fan of our ice cream culture here in Upstate New York—definitely a sweet addition to his experience!

Ronnie, one of our dedicated WWOOFers, has been hard at work on the farm, helping with the harvest. When she’s not in the garden, Ronnie loves to unwind by playing the piano in the hall, adding a lovely musical touch to our days.

We're thrilled to have Alex visiting us from Ohio for the past few weeks. Alex has been an incredible asset around the farm, lending his skills to everything from building a new dock at the pond with David to helping prepare delicious meals in the kitchen. His energy and versatility have been a wonderful addition to our community!

Recap of August 4th: Poetic Voices

Our August 4th Lecture on the Lawn was a truly lovely afternoon. We were honored to host local poets Donna Grace, George Grace, Victoria Hunter, GS Murphy, William Pruitt, Scott W. Williams, and Bart White. Their evocative readings brought depth and beauty to the day, and we’re grateful to each poet for sharing their voices with us.
